What is Hypnobirthing?
The Positive Birth Program
Birth is instinctual, it is natural and powerful. Unfortunately many women are afraid of birth. Afraid of the pain, the unknown and the countless “what ifs?” Hypnobirthing is more than just "Hypnos" and a state of mind, it is a program that teaches women about their bodies, their rights in childbirth, becoming informed about their choices and understanding what a positive birth outcome means to them.
The Positive Birth Program is designed to educate and inform women and their support partners as to how to best prepare for their birth. Deep relaxation techniques are taught to keep the birthing mother calm and focused and how to tap into her natural instinct to birth. Along side the relaxation methods mothers are informed about their choices in care, interventions and inductions. The program also teaches the best positions for labour, breathing methods, setting up the birthing environment, acupressure points, massage, the role and importance of hormones and the support partner.
Knowledge is power and the more a woman is aware of her choices, her body and what her baby is doing she can make informed decisions about her birth. She can remain calm, focused and even enjoy her birth!
Hypnobirthing is more than a state of mind, it is preparation, understanding, knowledge, acceptance and above all, having a positive birth outcome and using the best tools and techniques provided in the course to achieve that.
I’m Jae, a mother of 3 and after the birth of my first child I dived right into Hypnobirthing to go on to have successful VBAC’s.
I have lived on the Mornington Peninsula for over 20 years. I love the lifestyle it offers, being able to travel to the beach, wineries, restaurants and nature reserves, there are so many unique stores and places still to be discovered. With my family and fur baby we love exploring all that it has to offer.
Hypnobirthing and the Positive Birth Program was truly an awakening for me. It taught me how to trust my body, my instincts, trust my support partner, release and let go of any fear surrounding birth.
Every expectant mother should be offered this course, not only to learn birthing techniques but also to know her rights during birth. I cannot wait to teach this course to expectant mothers so they can to be empowered and impassioned about birth and motherhood.
